If you are looking for a festive outing for the family, without the hassle of the city centre, The dlr Mill Theatre Dundrum have announced Sleeping Beauty for their annual Christmas pantomime extravaganza. Running until January 7th, 2024, audience members will be transported into a world of enchantment as this lively remake of the beloved fairytale classic comes to life with punchy musical numbers, lavish sets and an exuberant cast that’s sure to delight children of all ages.

The show is 60 minutes long with no interval and is the classic fairy tale panto, but with a girl power twist, explains director Geoff O'Keeffe:

“Perpare yourselves for 60 minutes of pure panto mayhem! Our beautiful Princess Aurora is brought to life by the talented actress Leah Williamson. However, her fairytale destiny takes a treacherous turn when she pricks her finger on a spinning wheel, falling into an eternal slumber for a daunting 100 years. The wicked Maleficent, masterfully portrayed by Robbie Capaldi, casts the wicked spell. But hold your breath, as Prince Charming might be the one to find himself in need of rescue! Also in the show, our beloved Panto favourite Gary Mountaine takes on the endearing and hilarious role of Nanny Nelly.”

Speaking at the announcement Kate Canning Artistic Director of dlr Mill Theatre encouraged visitors to come and experience the Christmas pantomime extravaganza:

“We are thrilled to welcome you to our favourite time of the year at the theatre! As we prepare to roll out the red carpet for hundreds of children and families, we're excited to share with you the magic of our annual Christmas pantomime. Located conveniently along the Green Luas line, our theatre boasts easy access to car parking, a myriad of shopping options, and a diverse range of dining experiences. This makes for a perfect day of holiday festivities, without the hustle and bustle of the city centre. We can't wait to see you there!”

Sleeping Beauty will take place at dlr Mill Theatre from December 7th to January 7th. Tickets are priced from €22. Running time 60 minutes, no interval. www.milltheatre.ie
