Lineup Announced for Wild Roots Festival 2022


A host of new acts have been announced today for the highly anticipated Wild Roots, Music Performing Arts and Adventure Festival. The Sligo event, which was previously postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions, will now take place on the June bank holiday weekend, June 3-5th, 2022. Organisers of the family-friendly festival, which will include performances from the Kaiser Chiefs, James Morrison, Damien Dempsey, Soda Blonde, JYellowL and King Kong Company, have also announced that a limited number of tickets will go on sale this Friday, November 5th.


Amongst the new acts announced today, British indie rockers Razorlight will be heading to Sligo for the June Bank Holiday weekend next year. They’ll be joined by Limerick’s alt-rock outfit Hermitage Green and festival favourites The Blizzards. For those who like to dance, the legendary electro-disco-king Felix da Housecat will be joined by Sligo natives Back N Fourth and Monaco. For Irish hip-hop fans, Limerick city's rap legend Hazey Haze will be playing as will Irish RnB act LaGracia. Alt-folk band Moxie and Cork Indie Rockers The Burma have also been confirmed. In addition, comedian Joanne McNally has announced she will be joining the line-up of comics performing on the shores of Lough Gill.

Commenting on the announcement Festival Director Neil O’Connell remarked:


“Wild Roots Festival will be an iconic cultural gathering next Summer, with an eclectic and diverse line-up of arts and music, that will rival any major European Festival. It will be the first major music festival to take place in Ireland since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. We were incredibly humbled by the support that was shown by our ticket holders, the majority of whom retained their tickets. A limited number of tickets will go on sale this Friday. We look forward to welcoming you all to the Shores of Lough Gill next June, one of the most beautiful places in the world and to experience something truly inspiring.”




Wild Roots is a new boutique festival that celebrates music, performing arts and outdoor adventure. The event will take place on the freshwater lake of Lough Gill, Co. Sligo which was made famous by W.B Yeats. Festival patrons can sample a range of outdoor activities including boat rides, kayaking, rock climbing and aerial yoga. Other musical highlights will include Jenny Greene, Paddy Casey, Booka Shade and Mark Blair.
